Precast U-Drain T-6

U-Drain T-6 is the standard specification for surface drainage on residential roads, institutional campuses, urban streetscapes, and cable duct applications where heavy vehicular overrun is not a design requirement. Available in sizes from 300×300 mm to 900×900 mm with a choice of cover options.

What is a Precast U-Drain T-6

Precast U Drain T-6 supplier in NCR

The U-Drain T-6 is a precast concrete surface drainage channel with a U-shaped internal profile, designed to collect and convey stormwater runoff along roads, footpaths, and built-up areas. The T-6 designation refers to its load classification: engineered for pedestrian and light motor vehicle loading, with a wall and base geometry scaled accordingly. Fitted with a put-on cover slab, the drain presents a flush, walkable, or drive-over surface at grade.
Where the T-25 is specified for direct heavy vehicle loading on highways and industrial yards, the T-6 serves the much broader market of drainage applications where the loading is lighter but the need for consistent geometry, smooth hydraulic performance, and fast installation is the same. It also functions as a cable duct and utility channel when fitted with a solid no-hole cover, making it a versatile site component beyond pure drainage.
Hydraulic Performance

The precision-cast internal profile delivers a consistently smooth channel surface with self-cleaning velocity, & predictable capacity.

Fast Site Installation

Units are delivered to site at full design strength, ready to lay directly onto a prepared bed.

Three Cover Options

Standard perforated lid for stormwater inflow, a no-hole solid lid for cable duct and utility applications, or a perforated grating.

Sized for the Job

The T-6 load class uses an appropriately scaled wall and base section. Less concrete, lower unit weight, and easier handling.

Consistent Dimensions

Steel-mould production guarantees identical internal dimensions unit to unit: no misalignment at joints, level variation, or gaps.

Standards Compliant

Manufactured in accordance with applicable Indian standards for precast concrete drainage elements.

Residential & Urban Development

Group housing projects, plotted developments, townships, and municipal streets require linear surface drainage along internal roads, footpaths, and landscaped areas. A precast U-Drain T-6 provides a neat, maintainable drainage system that manages everyday stormwater runoff while integrating cleanly into modern urban infrastructure.

Institutional & Commercial Campuses

Hospitals, educational institutions, office campuses, hotels, and commercial developments require reliable surface drainage across roads, parking areas, pedestrian zones, and utility corridors. The U-Drain T-6 delivers controlled stormwater management while maintaining a clean, organised campus environment with minimal maintenance requirements.

Cable, Telecom & Utility Infrastructure

Utility corridors carrying optical fibre, ICT networks, CCTV systems, and low-voltage power distribution often require accessible routing solutions rather than conventional buried conduits. Covered precast U-Drain T-6 systems provide a maintainable utility corridor that simplifies cable installation, inspection, upgrades, and future network expansion.

Installation Guide

The trench is excavated to the required depth, allowing for the drain unit height plus a PCC bedding layer. The PCC bed is cast and levelled to the required invert gradient. The nominal longitudinal slope that governs drainage velocity and self-cleaning performance. BRHCInfra's technical team can advise on minimum gradients for the channel size being installed.
Drain units are laid sequentially along the prepared bed, butt-jointed end to end. Each joint is sealed with mortar or an approved sealant to prevent soil ingress and maintain hydraulic continuity. Line and level are checked throughout to ensure consistent gradient and zero step at joints.
Put-on cover slabs are placed after drainage connections and utility entries are confirmed. The surrounding trench is backfilled and compacted. Cover slabs are set flush with the finished surface level, critical for pedestrian safety and clean aesthetics on campus and urban projects.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the T-6 and T-25 U-Drain?

The T designation refers to the load classification. T-6 is designed for pedestrian and light motor vehicle loading; T-25 is designed for direct heavy vehicular loading, including trucks and construction equipment. The structural geometry of the wall and base section differs accordingly. If your drain will be in a location subject to HCV or construction traffic overrun, specify the T-25. For residential roads, campus paths, and urban footpaths, the T-6 is the correct specifications. If you are unsure, share your site details, and our team will advise.

What sizes are available in the T-6 range?

We supply T-6 U-Drains in internal dimensions from 300×300 mm to 900×900 mm: five standard sizes. The right size for your project depends on the catchment area being drained and the required hydraulic capacity. Share your project drainage design and we can confirm the appropriate size.

Can the T-6 be used as a cable duct rather than a drain?

Yes. Fitted with a solid no-hole cover lid, the T-6 channel functions as a protected surface utility duct for power cables, telecom conduit, fibre optic lines, and service pipes. This is a common application on institutional campuses, smart city projects, and urban road reticulation, where a surface-level protected duct is preferred over buried conduit.

    What cover options are available?

Three cover types are available: a standard perforated lid for stormwater drainage applications; a no-hole solid lid for cable duct and utility channel use; and a perforated grating where maximum surface water ingress is required. Cover specification is confirmed at the order stage.

What is the minimum gradient required for installation?

A minimum longitudinal gradient of approximately 1 in 200 to 1 in 500 is generally recommended for stormwater drainage to maintain self-cleaning velocity and prevent sediment deposition. The exact gradient depends on the channel size and anticipated debris load. Our team can advise based on your specific conditions.

Can T-6 U-Drains be covered with a carriageway surface?

The T-6 is designed for pedestrian and light motor vehicle loading only. If the drain will be crossed by or located within a carriageway subject to truck or bus traffic, the T-25 should be specified instead. For mixed-use situations, a drain that runs along a pedestrian path but crosses a service road, the crossing section can be specified in T-25 while the run remains T-6.

What areas do you supply to?

We manufacture u-drain T6 in Delhi NCR across various plants, and supply across Northern India, including Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
